It is easy to underestimate something that you do not know. This is especially true for businesses in and with foreign countries as it involves cultural differences, language barriers, infrastructure, institutional and legal differences, cooperation with trade unions, various consumer groups and buying habits, preferences, competitors with unknown repertoire, to only name a few. Generally, a foreign enterprise has disadvantages against local competitors. Together they build up burdens and obstacles for their enterprise, often referred to as liabilities of foreignness.

Domestic market knowledge, intercultural competence and methodological skills are not only necessary prerequisites of your enterprise for market success abroad but they also add value to it.

You can overcome the liabilities of foreignness with a KOMUNIKI project by working out concrete competence development measures in accordance with the expansion strategy and the planned market entry of your business.
